Rockerverb 50 Mkii foot switch compatibility
i'm using a Line 6 Helix in my RV50 Mkii's fx loop. the Helix also allows for channel switching on guitar amps, which i'd like to take advantage of. regarding this, the Helix owners manual warns- "IMPORTANT! connect only to amplifiers that utilize "short-to-sleeve" foot switch inputs. Connecting to ...

Re: Rockerverb 50 Mkii with no load
i'm curious as to whether the low volume kept me from damaging the amp. any techs here know if volume is a factor in how much time you have before things start to get damaged? Yes it absolutely is a factor. The potential damage to the output transformer depends on two main things: 1. The severity o...

Rockerverb 50 Mkii with no load
somehow i forgot that i had no cabinet connected to my RV50 Mkii head. as a result i had the amp on with no load connected to it for about 30-45 seconds. my volume was set very low (roughly 1.5) at the time. everything sounds okay so is it safe to assume that i got lucky and no damage was done to th...

Re: Orange Amps Tube Layout Guide
RK50MKII tube layout for combo FYI....if you have the Head you need to "flip" the rows of 12ax/at7 tubes left to right. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c352/evansexcellent/RK50MK2.jpg this post confuses me. namely the suggestion of "flipping" the preamp tube rows. why would i want to do that when...

RV MkII 50 watt tube chart?

Re: Where's the Rockerverb MkII love?
OP here. love mine, but not in love w/the reverb. got a tc nano HOF pedal, DONE. like others, i too think they're way over priced. i got mine brand new, factory sealed for only $1400 from a music store that was liquidating. great timing. i wouldn't have shelled out the full $2150. it's all PCB in th...

Re: Where's the Rockerverb MkII love?
i too agree with the comments that it doesn't take pedals well. it took a lot of trial and error but i found that, for me, the JHS Superbolt, and the Timmy pedals worked best. i use either one in front of the clean channel to create a quasi-channel for light crunch sounds. obviously i use the clean ...

I don't care what others think, it's more of me just being puzzled by their statements.OU818 wrote:

Where's the Rockerverb MkII love?
i've got to ask where all the love is for the RV. it seems whenever someone is asking which model to choose and the RV comes up, people tend to suggest other Orange models or outright diss the RV altogether. as a RV MkII owner this puzzles me because mine absolutely kills it. i've owned some choice ...

Re: Rockerverb 50 MkII effects loop question
Pardon my ignorance but, what does line level mean? I've run a clean boost in my loop with great results. i'm not sure how to explain it but from what i understand, you don't want line level if you're using a pedal in your fx loop. what pedal are you using with "great results" btw? I've run both a ...

Rockerverb 50 MkII effects loop question
does anyone here know if the fx loop of the RV50 MkII is line level or not? i'm hoping not. i want to put a clean boost pedal in my fx loop to use as a boost for solos. haven't had the greatest results thus far w/some pretty good pedals such as an Xotic AC Booster and a Zvex SHO clone. i'm hoping th...

Re: Tube Problem, or something else?
If you are using footswitch try removing the footswitch and see if that helps. If it does then it could be a problem with the FS contacts. I had the same issue, it turned out out to be a dodgy FS lead which was causing only some of the internal relays to operate which meant no sound. OP here. the a...

Re: Tube Problem, or something else?
I think it's a tube as well but at the same time I'm kinda surprised it ends up sounding so good after your three minutes or whatever. I think I had symptoms like that once and the amp stopped working in short time. I'd consider not turning it on again to be safe. I wasn't safe and that's what brou...
