Re: PPC212 (or PPC212JR) input impedance?

If the cab is rated 16 ohm, for sure the speakers are 8 ohms wired in serie.

Re: TH100 Effects Loop problem

Change the effect loop valve/tube.
On mine I've changed all the 12AX7 + 12AT7 with quiet and carefully selected ones (from Tube Amp Doctor)
Quiet again.

Re: ALL GOOD THINGS....

That's a bit sad. Moreover for the ones like me that doesn't want to put a toe in facebook.

Despite the low activity, I really liked this forum.

Re: No Dual Dark, so what now?

It's too bad the discontinued this amp. It was to me the most interesting amp for modern rock metal.
There are plenty of TH30, and sometime a TH100 pops up. They are good at high gain too.

Re: What happens if your amp goes down mid-gig.....

I always have a palmer pocket amp, a kind of DI in a pedal format to plug in the PA, but never had to use it so far.

Re: Talk to me about Orange Clean Tones

I choose the TH100 over others for the clean tone.
Through a good 4X12 the headroom and bass percution is great. Like a grand piano.

Re: New Rockerverb 100 mkIII noise in dirty channel

So if anybody from Orange reads this... HI! And is it cool if I swap out preamp tubes? NOT poweramp tubes. And not the two 12AT7's for the reverb and FX loop. I would ONLY replace the four 12AX7's for: clean 1/2 dirty 1/2 dirty 3/4 phase inverter I'm not from Orange, but gave you the same answer da...

Re: New Rockerverb 100 mkIII noise in dirty channel

I wouldn't go on the power tube. Just change 1 12AX7 selecting a low noise one. It's around 20$ and it's always good to have some 12AX7 to swap.

Re: New Rockerverb 100 mkIII noise in dirty channel

Gain always bring some noise.
I had the same issue and could efficiently reduce the buzz by filtering the AC power with a shaffner fn unit.
The other thing that works is to put a low noise preamp tube in the first stage of the gain channel.

Re: OT: anyone watching USA v Eng FIFA Women's World Cup right now?

Since they beat France last friday I don't watch :D Well I'm a liar, the last 20 minutes were a bit blant, defensive game, no more goal attempt.
Looks like Netherland is very impressive. Let's see tonight who USA will play.

Re: Hum hunter. Audio Isolator.

Agree.
Looks like the TH100 is not gentle with the ECC83. I need to get a batch of various preamp valves to play with.

The main improvement came from the EMI RF1 filter, and other stuff improved on top.

Re: Hum hunter. Audio Isolator.

Reply my own post. Did a lot of attempts and little things to get rid of this loud hum and buzz. It may help some forum-mates, here is the list of actions. 1) RFI/EMI filter. I went for the cheap solution (no furmann), a schaffner FN filter housed in a small box with a in and out plug. Used as main ...

Re: Orange’s grill cloth

The grill cloth certainly impact more the high frequencies than others. When needed, I put a piece of gaffer on my JCM 4X12 to tame highs. It's not nice but very efficient.
