OK this is only a guess based on what I've seen and read. The GRO series was sequentially numbered starting at 1. Not sure about the ORS series, but the pics only OR120s were sequentially numbered starting with 120001 ie 120 is the prefix indicating 120 watt amp. Maybe somebody who has a pics only O...

On a somewhat related note, is it true that there were two types of Orange 4-12 cabs in the early 70s? The ones for the domestic (UK) market which were loaded with Celestions, and the export cabs for the US market which were shipped unloaded, then loaded with Eminences by the US distributor. Does an...

Well I see a lot of people have read this, but no replies, so maybe there aren't too many people using this amp. Anyway I've been working with it quite a bit, and find that using guitars with lower output pickups and using the low input seems to work better. I'm liking the amp more and more. It does...

Forgot about your other question. There were a few 200 watt amps made in the early days of Orange. Pretty sure these came with KT88s. I imagine you could use them in the 120 watt amps, but there probably have to be some wiring changes in the amp that I'm not qualified to comment on. I guess it would...

Anders, well it definitely sounds like a 70s model, and not an early 90s reissue. I only asked because I've run into many people that confuse the two ie claim to have a 70s model when they in fact have a reissue. Not that it matters as I've heard the early 90s reissues, and thought they were pretty ...

Yeah those old OR120s are nice sounding amps. I generally leave the FAC in the furthest left position, but I'm using it with an early 90s Orange 4-12 with G12T75s which are fairly bright speakers. With darker speakers I might move it over a notch. I don't know how the old 25 or 30 watt speakers coul...

Any other AD140 Lead ie single channel users out there? I'd like to know what speakers you're using, and some settings that work with different guitars. Right now I'm using an early 90s Orange 4-12 with G12T75s that works real well with my midrange heavy vintage OR120s, but not as well with my AD140...
