Re: Guitar Weight. Does it matter?

Well, who knows? TBH though not a particular PRS fan myself, they are one of the makes I'd be slightly less unlikely to buy 'blind'. Simply because of their superior consistency. So (just to be cruel! :P) maybe you were missing out on a really nice one there, just because of it's lower than normal ...

Re: Guitar Weight. Does it matter?

Weight would not particularly bother me. What WOULD bother me was one guitar with a surprisingly low price and a different weight to nearly all other similar guitars. I'd be especially worried if the guitar was made by a company who claim to focus heavily on quality and consistency; a company like ...

Re: Guitar Weight. Does it matter?

Personally I think there are numerous factors than make a good sounding guitar and the weight as a stand alone factor is not important especially if that guitar is a bit lighter. The worst guitar I've ever had was was. 9ib Gibson LP traditional.....It sounded rubbish! And was a good example of a gu...

Re: Guitar Weight. Does it matter?

Normally, I would say weight matters - the lighter mahogany that Gibson used in the 50's really contributed to the sound, and lighter Teles sound better than the super dense ash that Fender used in the 70's. (I used to have a '73 Tele and there was nothing I could do to make it sound better) That s...

Re: Guitar Weight. Does it matter?

Let me reframe my question, I am familiar with age old debate of heavier and lighter guitars such as low end and reonomce and all the many many nuances. However would it deter you or concern you to buy a guitar that is about 1 pound lighter than 99% of the other guitars that are the same make and mo...

Re: Guitar Weight. Does it matter?

Thank for the input! Unfortunately I have no other choice but to buy over the net, I have bought many that way and gotten some really good ones, 1 amazing one a couple really mediocre ones and one that was the most dead guitar I have ever owned.

Re: Rocker 15! Wow!

I have the money for either of these right now, but I just don't think they do it for me, I have the or50 and I'm at the point that it pretty much covers my orange needs. I'm going to save a little longer and get the new Mesa boogie TC-50, way more amp but it's also $800 mores

And it doesn't sound right????!!!???? It's happened to me so many times before. I swear your ability to hear the musi...

Re: OR50 and CS50 owners, share your favorite settings

Thanks, sounds like a good setting, for some reason lately I have had to dial back the bass on mine, I don't feel like I have ever had to do that before but I ran it at about 10oclock last night Time for a valve change maybe?..... It's not that's there more bass there's just less Treble and presenc...

Re: OR50H vs Rockerverb 50mkii Head

Even in the 30W mode this amp's loud as heck. I always play mine using hearing protection. That said it sounds pretty good at lower volume levels as well though it's ment to be played loud. It is a big amp for the big stages really. But the feeling turning the volume up above 1-2 o'clock and the ga...

Re: New Guitar Trouble

Got the guitar back, it is playing beautiful. I cranked it through my or50 and it sounds great. Humbukers will always be my favorite but there is something really nice about a p90 through an orange amp
