Re: Dead (sort of) Rocket 32

This is what I don't understand. Theres no special tech inside an Orange amp and anyone who could build a clone from a schematic should be capable enough to figure out the amp circuit anyways by knowing what to look for from each tube socket and following traces. Might be tough to figure out switch...

I think it is a mistake on their part, but they may have felt it was a necessary change to support their repair centers.
I think they're afraid of people making clones. Ironic since I think the Rocker 32s are made in China where they're known for making copies of everything.

I have also read where there we some issues with early versions (please correct me if I am wrong)
but I have yet to find what that issue was.
This guy has several videos on YouTube about issues he's had with them: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBOmHc ... 5atRZRHUBQ

Re: Orange Crush 12 Just Hums

OMG....the comedians on this board  Dont quit your day job. :) I already quit my day job... :) Most people here, if they have any knowledge at all, are more familiar with tube amps. There are a few that know about SS amps and maybe one will respond. I've heard several people talk about replaci...

First question, correct way to change bulb (Dark Terror jewel light)? I removed jewel bezel, I can touch the bulb, push it in, but won't come out.
First answer. Smash the bulb and use a screwdriver to push and twist. :D

Thanks for the clarification. I thought all AD15 were made by trace Elliott.
I was talking about Oranges in general. I don't recall exactly when the AD15s were discontinued. Could have been before the move to the new factory so all of them may have been made by Trace.

Re: AD15/12 - ohms question

Would that mean I could disconnect the 16ohm speaker, and use the new Suhr Reactive load IR connected to the 8ohm socket? I'm keen to explore the world of IR's for quiet practice at home, so looking at the Suhr (which is very $$$) and Torpedo Captor with a Cab Sim pedal/AI DAW combo (more affordabl...

Re: AD15/12 - ohms question

Ok thanks Ant, I guess the 16ohms on the black sticker is referring to the Speaker probably. I did see the 16ohm and 8ohm noted to the right, on the plate, so was confused and curious to work out if both sockets could be used. Someone probably just got lazy and only wrote the speaker impedance on y...

Re: AD15/12 - ohms question

I think they might have been assembled by the Trace Elliot factory, but not entirely sure. No doubt the early units were made by Trace Elliot. Back in 1998, I asked the folks at Rhodes Music in London about the Trace inspection sticker and their response was "Designed by Orange. Manufactured by Tra...

Re: AD15/12 - ohms question

I don't know what your back plates look like but mine has 16 and 8 ohm outputs labeled from left to right that match the order of the outputs on the chassis. And to answer the OP's question, the 8 ohm output is there in case someone wanted to change out the V30 speaker for an 8 ohm, use the amp with...

You can also send a private message to Orange's Facebook page. Those messages are monitored by people from both the US and UK offices.
