Re: NPD! (The Creamery Pickups)

Nothing like striking Gold on a pickup swap! Congrats! I bought an ESP Eclipse a few years ago, despite the EMG pickups as it was such a nice guitar. I immediately went with a set of Duncan 59's and ultimately replaced the bridge with a custom wound slightly hotter PAF. Glad you found a nice combo t...

Re: Birthday present from my singer

Good stuff! I do like the picks though they are quite cool. Any idea where he got them?

Re: Guitars going out of tune

Hmm, tune up a half step and leave it overnight. It just can't work. Too logical, too easy!
I'm going to give this a try next time!

Re: Guitars going out of tune

Big Bends nut sauce is a good lube for nuts. But this is a timely post for me, I always use Ernie Ball normal slinkys. I buy them 10-12 sets at a time. Anyway I put a new set on my strat last week and these don't want to stay in tune. I'm wondering if its possible that I have a bad set? These may be...

It's all about the mid hump....... http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo267/Thinline_slim/BMonkeyBoard_zps8f577002.jpg Oh yeah, and being in tune. That pic is awesome!!! My board goes like this... Korg Pitchblack Tuner Analogman TS9 - gain & tone around 9 o'clock, I like this for in between pickups...

Re: P-90 help

If you lower the 59 way down low is it still muddy? I have one in the neck of a guitar too and it is a pretty dark, boomy pickup, so I hear what you are saying. I just noticed that if I put it far away from the strings, it helped quite a bit. But if you use any dirt in your tone they are a little mu...

Re: Fulltone OCD Or BB Preamp Overdrive

Gotcha. In that case pretty hard to go wrong with either an OCD or a BB. Easy to get really good sound out of both. I think the BB may give you a better clean boost if that's of interest to you.

Re: Fulltone OCD Or BB Preamp Overdrive

Just a suggestion, Not what you asked about, but I have had great luck using a Catalinbread SFT with my Orange TT. I have found the TT harder to please with other OD pedals. The reasons I suggest this pedal are as follows... 1. Baxandall EQ, very wide range bass & treble are very sensitive & extreme...

Re: Question about TT

I'm pretty sure this tech can voice this amp like the Fat channel for pretty cheap. I use Emi Texas Heats in a Twin Reverb so I agree with your thoughts on the Emi voicing. I pretty much use a 68 Super Reverb or the Twin most of the time. The TT is just for that classic tone I really can only get fr...

Re: Question about TT

Well I have this TT loaded up with NOS glass and it sounds really great, except it needs a shade more low end grunt. I keep the tone control down at around 9 o'clock so if the Fat channel is darker I have plenty of room on the dial to brighten it up. I am not a real high gain player so I keep the ga...

Re: Question about TT

Thanks Jondog. I would take it to a tech, not try it myself. Hadn't thought about using that Fat channel as a reference, that's a great place to start. I appreciate the advice. I have a local guy who is an amp tech and has some Orange amps in stock. If he has a DT I'll be in good shape.

Re: Question about TT

Hey thanks for the replies. Do you have any idea which caps and what values? I'd like to do something to get some more low end out of this amp, it's really the only thing I don't like about it and if I could get that I would be so psyched!

Re: The Tube Store, shout out!

Man I love great service! I'm going to give them a try. I thought I had ordered from them but I think it was actually the tube depot. While we are discussing good service, I must mention ZZounds. I order from them often, and they always have stuff in stock, have rock bottom prices, free FedEx shippi...
