Re: Anyone know anything / have any info on this Orange Matamp?

Beautiful PA Amp! I will probably be saying mostly whats already been said but... I have never seen a 5 channel in person but knew they existed. The 6 channel is a little more common to see. They made the 6 channel in a 200 watt or 120 watt versions. They also made a 4 channel version. What makes th...

Re: Found a pair of 4 x 15 Orange Cabinets

Did anyone else notice the extra handle on the bottom of the cab? Probably for pulling it out of the van. http://www.theallens.theallens.com/4X15cabs/4.png I noticed that too! These have to be so dang heavy! These cabs are absolutely amazing! I follow the vintage gear pretty close and have never se...

Re: AD15 - Speaker change?

+1 on the G12H-30. For me a pretty perfect match for Oranges. The V.30 is good when there are 2 or more of them but just don't quite do it for me as a singleton. The current H-30 'Anniversary' model is pretty much the standard model, and nothing wrong with that. Indeed, the colour of the plastic ma...

Re: AD15 - Speaker change?

Thanks for the feedback Steamboat I get a bit lost with all the G12H speakers, there seems to be a few, Heritage and Modern, and then the Heritage have different Bass Resonence ratings too, which I also don't understand! Are you able to provide a bit more info around the vintage G12h you mentioned?...

Re: AD15 - Speaker change?

I have used the AD15 a lot over the last 12 years. I have owned many of them and still have some. It's my favorite modern Orange Amp. The best speakers in to my ears are either a Vintage Celestion G12H that you could find off ebay or the Celestion Alnico Blue. I take the V30 out of every AD15 I have...

Re: Vintage PA Gear

HAHA Yes, I have a ways to go to achieve that picture but i'm getting there! The 6 channel mixer that I have in the pictures is a stand alone transistor Pre amp/Mixer. They also made a version of this that was the 6 channel transistor Mixer and a 120 watt valve power section housed in one unit. The ...

Re: Orange Reverb Unit

Nice Wiring Schematic Billy, Thanks for sharing that. I've seen two different reverb units from orange. Solid State from the mid 70s and then I've seen tube reverb units from the early Orange/Matamp days. I have one of the solid state versions. Everything I have ever read about these tells you to pu...

The Roadie Tip about hum could kill you though...
And that's why it's a good idea to have a roadie and let them set your amp up!

But in all seriousness that's a good point to make billy.

1973-75 Orange Owners Manual - Great Information

I have another interesting piece of orange Information to share. I think this is one of the best Manuals for the OR120/OR80 out there! A lot of really good info and it goes into more depth about the amp than most catalogs or manuals do. I particularly like the section external effects where it talks...

Re: PA120 date or production question

You might be looking at the serial number on the wooded head shell. Is there a different number on the Chassis?

Also I Sent you a PM. I have a few of these and might be able to help date it.
