Re: New Product Announcement 9/28/18
Looks like the switched to a single preamp tube, with the second tube for the effects loop (two different tubes as well). Also switched over to a 4ohm platform at 500w, down to 250 at 8ohm. Added a headroom switch and made the active/passive a metal switch. Very interesting adjustments, looks like t...

Re: Dual Terror on Bass?
I know you are an all tube guy, I was the same. Played a 70's Ampeg V4b for years. Then I purchased a TB500 and a SP212cab and it changed my last 5 years of gigging/playing. I've had a national act play a 6 string Alembics bass thru it and blow their mind doing every style of play possible (finger, ...

Re: Electric Shocks through the guitar/mic
This is no joke! I have a 70's Fender Showman head that came with what I believe is a 2 prong lamp cable. It has a ground switch on the back. I did not check the grounding at a gig once at the biggest venue we'd ever played and found out the hard way with my beard freshly wet from beer. I got one ph...

Re: Orange sp 212
I sincerely appreciate that advice and will take it! Last blues power gig the people were lining up against the wall on my side of the stage and just bathing in the bass waves...it was amazing to see and sadly not due to the Orange-ness. Thanks for taking a moment to rap with myself, R-bass!!! Here'...

Re: Orange sp 212
Bedroom practice amp...you devil! That's the hardest decision: to keep destroying with it and keep sending it back, or to have my friends who are engineers replace/upgrade/improve the things that keep failing and then repaint the thing for the warranty would most likely be toast from that. Luckily m...

Re: Orange sp 212
I hear ya Randy-San! I'm not trying to fire up a Xenophobe rant by ANY means. I'm very glad my cabinet was made in England for it has stood tall and is a lifelong friend, whereas my TB500 head has been nothing but living hell but I can't quit her. Its not her fault she was designed to run at max cap...

Re: Orange sp 212
I'm an original SP 212 man myself and I know what you are talking about. I was going to pick up a second one but the minute I saw the tab on the front and the new country of origin I said "No sir!" Especially considering the price didn't come down... Keep in mind they just redesigned it to better ma...

Re: Where can we find your music?
Here's my blues power trio I play bass in The Petra Loa http://www.soundcloud.com/the-petra-loa" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Two songs recorded in the basement with one mic, one track from our first gig. Second gig is tomorrow! I also play bass in a heavy metal band, Dark Region. H...

Re: BASS PLAYERS: SP410.
I rock the TB500 + SP212 and it destroys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love loading on stage for a gig. I load up, the soundguy says "THAT's your bass amp?" because he's confused as to why its not a fridge/double stack etc. I just chuckle. Then comes my turn during soundcheck. You know what they ALWA...

Re: Micro Terror questions
I agree that the 108 can sound a little weak/boxy/etc, but man you throw a Tube Screamer in front of the micro terror and the 108 sounds fantastic. Just that little goose from the TS9 and I am in heaven with the Micro + 108. Not that running the Micro isn't a joy into bigger cabinets...that is an Or...

Re: Bass amps advice...
The issue, my brother in four strings, is the tendency to be D.I.'d by mothereffing default. They even prefer dry signals when recording. I roll an Orange TB500 into their SP212 and it is heaven for all occasions. But you can spend as much as you want on a rig and then it comes time for soundcheck ...

Re: Neighbors...
I'm lucky and have radical neighbors and a 2.5 detached garage. A year ago my cousin and I were playing with the door up/open and in the middle of a song we look up and a random guy is standing in my driveway staring at us about 2 feet away. The song stopped like a needle ripping of a record and I'm...

Re: Fault with Bass Terror 500 - help needed
Just give Orange a call/email. They were very prompt and curteous with my repair. I was in the same boat, was worried and shaken by the issue. They fixed it AND improved it, and its been surefire ever since. Destroyed a stage last Saturday night with it. Either way best of luck but I reccomend letti...
