Re: New mix test!

 The ironic thing is that the TH30 probably suits my current style more than the engl did.

Re: New mix test!

Awesome, thanks for the replies! If that's you playing on all those tracks on there I'm very impressed young man! I realise its all synced and cut up to the drum machine but never the less...isnt that how all the metal bands do it these days? I had a feeling you would come back and do this to us one...

New mix test!

Hey guys!

I've been working on a new mix and decided to make a short demo of it...

The song/clip/demo is appropriately named: "The Drone"

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Re: Amps you wish you'd never bought ....

Every amp I've owned...

I wish I had seen the practicality of modelling before.

I wouldn't mind running a tube power amp, though.

Re: New here TH100 & PPPC410

I have a suggestion:

instead of selling the ppc410 keep it but also buy a ppc212OB and use them in a stack configuration.

you'll get the high end detail from the 10s and the open back 2x12 will "fill the room".

Re: Is the Dark Terror tight enough to play things like this?

I've had a couple of Engls, and I haven't played a DT myself, but I can tell you I think my Thunderverb 200 isn't capable of the attack that the Engls had. A Hardwire TL-2 will get it tight enough for my purposes, but I'm not a technical metal player at all, or I'd have kept an Engl. Oranges are gr...

totally agreed.

Re: Is the Dark Terror tight enough to play things like this?

^like i said, most people on here (myself included) would say that it could do metal just fine. but kids looking for a Peavey 6505 clone (coughcoughbadmonkeycoughcough) will always b!tch about how it's not tight enough. I don't really like the 6505 tbh... not really tight enough for periphery/djent...

Re: Is the Dark Terror tight enough to play things like this?

I tried the dark terror at my music shop, it wasn't tight on it's own. I plugged in a hardwire cm-2 and set it to be a clean boost... it was fairly tight, sounded okay for tech/prog, I guess I would think you would get better results with an eq pedal and a compressor. with the eq pedal you can cut t...

Re: Help me choose a compressor pedal...

Lol "catch and release". Perfect description. :D Thanks for the link, Wired. The review pretty much sums up what I've heard from the demos, as well as from other people that have played a lot of comps. The only thing is, I can't get my hands on a Diamond over here in Germany to demo first, so I mig...

Re: What tubes are you using

not a thunderverb 50 but it uses pretty much the same tubes

I use 2 ruby el34's and one ruby ecc83 in the power section and 3 ruby ecc83's in the preamp section... they sound great and they are really smooth and tight...

hope this helps :)
