Re: Question about Terror Bass 500 and cabs

Thanks Ill post a review on the perceived difference between 410 and 212 so people can have a read of my opinions on the matter. PS If anyone else reads this, if you have a TB500, consider swapping out the preamp tubes with Watford Valve Cryo ECC83's (12AX7) if your american :-) Such a nice rich cr...

Re: Terror Bass 500 -F use Blows - New

I played my new replacement TB 500 at rehearsal today for more or less 4 hours straight at loud volumes, and I had zero issues. I'm very happy to report that the amp sounds great, and I hope my problems are now over, and I can get on to enjoying this wonderful little beast!

Re: Terror Bass 500 -F use Blows - New

Turns out both units were from the same batch, 0411, which was apparently sour. So, my third TB500 arrived yesterday, after having two previous ones blow up on me. The previous ones were both from batch 0111 (the batch number is the last set of digits in the serial number, right?). The new one is f...

Re: Terror Bass 500 -F use Blows - New

At least, to Orange's defense, their support department has been very responsive and friendly. Hours after I contacted them this time around, they replied and said they'd be sending me a new one from a different batch today (thanks Rob!). Hopefully, it won't have any issues and I can get back to enj...

Re: Terror Bass 500 -F use Blows - New

So, I'm on my second Terror Bass now. The first one blew its fuse violently after just a few hours of use. Orange were very friendly about it, and shipped me a new one (after a considerable delay, though I believe they had some supply issues). I've had the new one for several weeks now, and played i...

Re: Different variants of the Terror Bass 500 for 230V and 240V?

Just heard back from Rob at Orange customer service: "The BT500 marked as 240 is the only version for Northern Europe and will be fine in Norway"

I'm happy! :)

Ok, I see. Anyone else in the know?

(I have asked Orange, but no reply yet.)

Re: Different variants of the Terror Bass 500 for 230V and 240V?

Thanks for the welcome and clear reply Andy,

What you write is what I have been thinking as well, but why would Orange design their boxes in this manner? Just to confuse us?

Different variants of the Terror Bass 500 for 230V and 240V?

On the enclosing cardboard box for the TB 500 there are four squares of which one is ticked: 110V, 115V, 230V, and 240V. On my box, "240V" is ticked, but here in Norway, the nominal voltage is 230 (which I believe it also is for the UK, incidentally). Does Orange really make separate versions meant ...
