Re: Just got a TV

I'm a moron, because I was all like "a shape knob on a television? Is this a joke? It's not going to have amp-like EQ on a television!" ...and then I realized the error of my ways. Ha! :D Same here! When I saw that you were complaining about the sound of your TV, I was about to suggest changing the...

Re: Fretless guitar weirdness!!!!

Guthrie Govan has definitely been a huge influence on me for the past year or so. I highly recommend you check out his album "Erotic Cakes" on iTunes. Also, his band The Arristocrats is one of the best I've heard in a long time. Website: http://the-aristocrats-band.com/ Edit: For anyone who says, "H...

Re: To All Paul Reed Smith Owners...

In my opinion, most PRS guitars are fairly good, but there are much better guitars out there that are more worth the money.

My opinion: Some Gibsons< most PRS< really good Gibsons< Suhr/ Tom Anderson/ other small luthiers.

Just how I see it though...

Re: Is this what i can expect every time?

Fortunately for me, I've only rarely been asked to turn down, since most of my gigs are at larger venues. One thing you could try is turning the speaker cabinet to face away from the audience and sound man. Then cover the speaker cabinet in some way in which it dampens the sound but is still able to...

Not the right pedals in all cases but the size is pretty accurate.
Looks like I need a PT-3.
+1 on the Suhr pedals. They are incredible.

I think this website even beats the Warmoth guitar building simulator.

Re: TC Electronics Flashback or Diamond Memory Lane Jr?

I just swapped my Eventide Timefactor for a Visual Sound Dual Tap Delay. I found I was really only using the Vintage or Digital delay and didn't need so much pedal. The Visual Sound is definitely worth checking out. Its so bonehead simple and it sounds great! And given that it has tap and dual dela...

That seems a little impractical.
Try taping the knob to the pedal.
Or even take the knob off so you won't bump it.

I'd say go with Whitebox. I've heard great things about them.
Plus they have a killer logo that they put on the cabs.

Re: Pick-up help

From what I've heard, GFS pickups are terrible. I'd go with Seymore Duncans instead.
Or if you really want to get good pickups chech out Suhr pickups.

Re: How much better is a PPC212 than a PPC112?

I usually play concerts of 400+ people with my 112 and it sounds great mic'ed up. Yes, the 2x12 sounds slightly better than the 112, but I don't think the difference is worth the extra $200 or so and the pain of having to lug it arround town. Plus, there is almost no difference when mic'ed up in a l...

Re: gibson les paul users

I Strongly recommend Suhr's pickups. I have yet to hear better sounding pickups, especially hummbuckers. The tonal difference between my Les Paul's Seymore Duncan and my Suhr's Suhr pickups in astounding. The Suhrs kill the SDs at all levels of clean, overdrive, and distortion. I would look into the...
