Borderline Productions wrote:Those look like Rockerverbs in the video. Great drummer. He plays same style my son does.
He was hugely influenced by Purdy, and assimilated that style in a rock setting.
Or so I've heard, I don't know much about drumming.

Re: russian circles orange spotting

Holy smokes, guess I was wrong! Those gotta be model T's behind Brian, tho. I guess he could be using them for bass along with the ampeg. Two of them would almost certainly have enough power. They haven't played at home here in Chicago much this year, so I guess I was out of the loop. Alex, any idea...

Re: russian circles orange spotting

Awesome band. I've probably seen them live upwards of 20 times. I might be wrong because it looks very weird, but I believe mike is actually playing the the Sunn rig behind the bass player. Don't know why it would be set up that way but that definitely looks like his setup with 2 model T's through 2...

Re: my bands demos with orange th30

I'm digging the tunes. As far as the recording goes, I think the snare should definitely be turned up. The snare is the driving force of the beat and is being drowned out by cymbals. Cymbals always cut through the mix because they have such a high frequency so it usually isn't as important to have ...

Re: my bands demos with orange th30

I cant comment on recording etc, but i really like "marbles", one of those songs that makes me relax and think:) The singer sounds a bit like david bowie in the first song which is cool. Good stuff mate. Cheers Jim thank you, sir. thats the second time I've gotten the Bowie thing, but I hadn't ever...

Re: Great bands you've discovered recently...

Touché Amoré (saw these guys play last Saturday, can't believe they've been around since '07 and I'd never heard of them). I only found out about these a few months ago too. Great band. For me: Brontide - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6lvuWDZpPA and I only just got into The Chariot really as well...

Re: My brand new orange th30 is got to mutch treble or so?

It's weird because I have the exact opposite problem with my th30. On the clean channel I keep the treble nearly all the way up and the bass way down and its still very dark through my fender dt412. Its pretty nice, though. When I need more sparkle I use an eq pedal to bring up the mids and highs.

If I'm broke, Shiner Family Reunion case (bock, blonde, hefeweizen, black lager, Kosmo's Reserve).

If I have money, maybe some Dogfishhead 90 minute IPA.

Mmm... weekendy.

Re: Anyone ever listen to the band "HUM"?

Ah yes, I have had the pleasure of seeing centaur live twice, but unfortunately never HUM. I would at least like to see a new Centaur album, I think they only released one, In Streams. I'm sure they've been talked about before on the forum, but if you like HUM you should check out Shiner, who are de...

Re: Is the TH30 simply a dual terror with an effects loop?

they are pretty different. I was able to a/b them and found the th30 to sound more modern, and the dt a little more vintage. The th30 seemed to have much more low end and sounded beefier overall. I went with the th30 because it works better with what I need in my band, but in another world I could h...

Re: NAME the POPULARITY that you never GOT or UNDERSTOOD

Wow. I can say that I disagree with most of what is posted on this thread. Why not try opening your minds to music that is both popular and not? Because honestly, if you don't "get" the Beatles, Hendrix, Guns N Roses, Dave Matthews, or Bob Marley I feel sorry for you, because that's just sad. I'd r...
