Re: Need info and advice

Re: network provider info to watch Olympics on internet?
if you're a Mac guy, some quick dns rerouting can get you able to stream the coverage BBC is providing: http://9to5mac.com/2012/08/01/how-to-watch-official-bbc-olympics-coverage-from-the-u-s/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Not sure what software is available on windows to make it eas...

Re: Orange Amp won't work in the UK :(
Not sure what you're talking about. Step-up and step-down transformers are rated in watts, not volts. :? my bad, i meant wattage, not voltage, of the amp. i think the point was understood anyway though...thanks for calling me out on it... Out of curiosity, how would you determine peak plate wattage...

Re: Orange Amp won't work in the UK :(
a stepdown transformer will do it; a friend of mine uses one in ireland for a US-wired amp. just make sure it can handle the peak plate voltage the amp specifies, and then some. i'd go 3x the peak at least though. Not sure what you're talking about. Step-up and step-down transformers are rated in w...

Re: Recording with garageband on ipad 2/3?
not arguing either.. just trying to answer the OPs question with an opinion based off experience, like he asked for, instead of writing it off. I use a Mac and and iPad, and for what it is, the iPad is great, but I'd imagine most people don't buy an iPad thinking its going to replace even a $1000 st...

Re: Recording with garageband on ipad 2/3?
What does a computer have to do with sound quality? I'd place even converters about last on the list after preamps, mics, mic placement, amps, guitar, engineer, and even player. I just personally think screwing around with the limitations of an iPad and Garageband kind of a waste of money. You can ...

Re: Recording with garageband on ipad 2/3?
that alesis dock is actually pretty good, i had an alesis rep in my store a few weeks back demoing it. i think you'll get a lot of different opinions (especially on this forum), but unless you're looking to drop a grand or more on the whole setup, i'd forego getting a used computer and cheaper inter...

Re: Strymon
i tried out an mxr delay, a boss delay, the line 6 delay, an eventide and the strymon el capistan. strymon sounded better, no question. build quality is awesome, features are awesome, sound is awesome. i can't see why someone would knock strymon but still like eventide, they're both digital effects....

the vocals and guitar line remind of "cult of personality" for some reason. sounds good!
