Re: OR80 amp ohms???
What would I be looking for? I sent it out about 9 years ago to a guy very familiar with OR to replace my caps. He mentioned that the fast fuse was actually 1/2 amp and not 1. Do you figure he would have spotted something off with my ohms selector , or, is it something really obscure that one would ...

Re: I think I'll pull the trigger on Rocker 30 head
I'm still waiting on my Rocker 30. Seems like one of those heads that's worth the wait.... and then it stays in the family.

OR80 amp ohms???
So, I've been using my OR for over 20 years and I used to post a bit here..... Anyway, I just saw someone mention OR80's from the 70's having the wrong impedence listed. Someone said the 16ohms is really 8? I've been kinda meticulous about using correct ohms etc and I never knew this. Is there any t...

fwiw, I played an ampwith an emimence 10' 9maybe a ramrod) and it was not the same amp being played with an
12" Oxford. Really the 10' was unbelievable... like a great alnico in overall forwardness and lack of nasal quality.

Re: Orange OR100 very dark clean sound
I couldn't get past the idling noise I got from that new production tung sol.... maybe you all have differnet experiences.pedecamp wrote:Putting a nice bright and sparkling preamp tube like a Tungsol in V1 would have most likely sufficed in brightening your clean channel.

Re: What power tubes do you guys use in your R30?
JUst my two cents - may be off topic a bit..... I liked my e34l's better than my kt77's in my OR 80 FWIW. Kinda same conclusion Tesla came up with.

Re: Acoustic Absorbers in man cave...
I doubt you'll get into ovrdampening without being to clearly identify what caused it. If you're concerned about sound volume leaking out if the room, I usually try to keep the drums away fro the door and put extra foam (or whatever) to try to severely cut down on the noise that is exiting and enter...

Re: Orange Rockerverb 100 MK2 (MKII) noisy! preamp gain nois
Gosh! Gain at 8.5! What happens when you back the gain off just a tiny bit (aside from getting better tone... )? For real, I exercise some masterful and mindful pick technique when I run my gain that high 3'0clock is my absolute cutoff it seems unless I'm got the mojo really going on...

Re: Do I need to replace my tubes?
No, that isn't the way to go. You know when preamp tubes go - they get microphonic. They're not a tube that needs replacing until they start to go... Power amp tubes should be replaced regularly. Get a set of those and replace them - that will bring the spark back to your amp. A full set of extra t...

Re: Do I need to replace my tubes?
Or better still have an used good one. I don't trust new valves as much! But yeah, one pre should probably suffice. I'm betting worn power valves here. Andy. Yeah, get one good NOS preamp tube (that you'll probably switch to anyway) and you'll find it's your power tubes (probably) and you'll be sou...

Re: 12AX7 vs. 5751 in V1/V2 on a Rocker 30?
Yeah, mix and match.... I think the 12ax7in v2 brings up the gain a tad even if it is only a phase inverter IMO. Just like I think the 12ay7 or 12at7 bring the gain down a tad ifthey are used in V2. I've read different things about this but nothing compares to what your ears tell you. I've used two ...

Re: Anybody using two 2x12s
Yopu gotta do something to make it all work correctly ohms wise..... IMO.... change something, maybe take out a speaker from a 2x12 (which can sound pretty great IMO). LIke if you have the two 16ohms speakers running in parallel for 8 ohms, take outone of your 8 ohm speakers running in parrallel wit...

Re: NEW: Fender Super Champ XD
Concerning the last post, There isn't any solid state in their I would surely assume (Fender musicmaster bass amp) don't they just use one side on the tube as the driver and the other side as the pi.... kinda like some thing Orange did on their OR80? Now to clarify, the TT uses one preamp v1 as the ...
