Im wondering if itll be loud enough for small to medium gig while miced

I've said 'yes', but it all depends on:

1) your definition of small to medium.

2) how loud your drummer is.

3) whether you need any cleans.

For me the point of the TT is to crank it up full and rock out without aggro from sound guys, which it will do well at smaller gigs no touble.

I've said yes because I've used one for small to medium gigs and it was great. Whether you need cleans or not is a big factor though; I didn't really so it was fine. In the end I swapped it for a Rocker 30 though as the occasional gig that wasn't mic'd up was a bit of a PITA.

The difference between 15 watts and 30 watts is roughly 3db. very small. A great test is to set up a volume you like on the TT in 7.5 watt mode then switch to 15 watt mode. you will here more bottom end, less gain (more headroom) and a very slight volume increase. The same rule applies to switching to a 30 or 50 watt amp.

Sound guys ask me to turn down my TT combo all the time. And we play more unmic'ed shows than mic'ed.

That being said the real issue with this amp live is the very hot biased pair of el84s.

If you need any sort of volume kick at live settings. Forget it. They are already maxed out at about 2 o'clock the rest is just more gain.

If you only need one volume and the sweetest tone ever than don't hesitate.

i use mine like this all the time in a theatre that sits 250 people and have no issues with volume clean. we're not a super loud band, but we're loud enough.

I use mine at pub gigs unmiked,lots of times,plenty loud enough through a 1 or 2 x 12,a most fab little amp

*While mic'd* - it's simply not an issue. Unmic'd it depends on the gain setting v cleans you want/need.

Max'd on volume and high on gain, I found the TT to be a bit of a wild beast feedback wise.

If you don't need the cleans then a cooking TT is a wonderful thing even if it's not blasting your ears off.

As long as you point the cab at your ears and mic it up then fine. I loved mine but the lack of cleans/versatility was my issue. I took it to Jam nights often and had a ball though.

From me its a clear yes.
Unless you want cleans. Get a Fender Bjr then. Along with a TT and a decent AB switch.
