anyone here have any experience with Emperor?

i just noticed that Emperor cabs are only available in 2,4,6, or 8 Ohms.

whats the most versatile? iv always gone with 16 Ohm stuff.

my guitar player is gonna order a 4x12 for a 200 watt Sunn S2000 and a 2x12 to run on his JCM800

is there any advice i should give? and im sure if he puts request in the notes section that they can build it to 16 Ohms.

Is the Sunn a transistor amp? If so, lower impedance = more power. Doesn't apply to valve amps though.

I would try and stick with 16 ohm then, so you can hook more cabs up together and shake walls.

Scratch that, just done a little research and apparently the Sunn only has 4 or 8 ohm speaker outs. Given that choice, I'd go with 8ohm. Looks like a killer amp by the way, I've seen 200s but I'd not come across 2000s before - how does it sound? Is he using it for bass or guitar?

its a killer amp, one hell of a room shaker, the tone is one of its own, it has loads of low-end but still puts out a sweet full range tone,, this thing has the BIGGEST transformers iv ever seen and it's damn heavy to.

this amp came out in 67' it was 69' when Marshall made the Major to compete.

Thanks for noting the Ohms output, i never looked on the back.

he using a custom shop Tele..

thanks, yeah he going to get the 4x12 in 8 Ohms and the 2x12 in 16.

hes gonna stack them up as the 4x12 on the bottom with the 200 watt Sunn and the 2x12 on top with his 2210. we are just a two piece so this should make alot more sound.

this is what he ordered, just like this in these colors and all. man i can't wait,, i just know its gonna make my drumming all the more better, i love to feel the sound [:p] yeah know!

My band stacks 4x12's on top of Emperor 2x12's. It really helped in hearing the guitars more, but actually turning down the overall amp volume.

I own two Emperor cabs and an Orange cab. I love all three. The Emperors are: a 4x12 with greenies and a 2x15 bass cab with eminence speakers. The Oragne has the V30's so, form my perspective, I have a lot of ground covered!

The Emperor cabs are great. Incredible craftmanship from real carpenters and musicians. The guys who build them do so by hand and are super cool guys. Definitely a quality build and a quality sound. I highly recommend them!!!
• Orange AD30R
• Reeves Signature CP103 & Orange 4x12 w/ vintage 30s (newer cab)
• Emperor Cab w/ Eminence 2x15 speakers & late 70's Music Man HD130 Reverb 130 Watt head
• 1975 Orange 4x12 Cab w/ Eminence speakers & Sovtek Tube Midget 50H
