Re: Ampeg AMG100
The pickup in there is a humbucker. You can also get single coils. From what I understand Kent Armstrong has a whole line of these removable pickups. I think you can also get ahold of him, send him any pickup you want and have him put it in one of the removable casings. Lol! Yea, this has been my fi...

Re: Ampeg AMG100
Yea, the plexiglass is cool. It's way over priced and too heavy for my taste. There was a sale on sam ash for this and it's really light. Even if I had the money, I think I would still go with this model. My back thanks me for that.

Ampeg AMG100
Well, I got a new ax. For those of you that don't know, this is the wood version of the old Ampeg plexiglass (which means it has a swappable pickup system.) I got the mahogany model with the cherry finish. I ended up stripping the finish because it looked really generic to me with that color scheme....

She is so damned hot. Nothing is more attractive than a pretty girl playing guitar and singing... Ok, maybe a pretty girl who can tear it up on a drum set.lampic wrote:rockgodess PJ Harvey with her AD30:

I'm not really into that kind of stuff either but damn that tone is killer. I was seriously considering getting that amp. I am really glad I went for the AD30HTC though, it's works better for my style. What kind of stuff do you usually play? I'd be interested in hearing after listening to that clip.

Re: OFFICIAL ORANGE SOUND CLIP THREAD
That is some wicked tone man. I really dug when the clean guitar came in. Listening to it makes me want to smoke some weed. Btw, I loled when I read all your influences and saw Mariah Carrie at the end.

Re: OFFICIAL ORANGE SOUND CLIP THREAD
I just joined a band that would probably be described as "post-hardcore". (Generally I don't care for labels but they're useful at times). We've recorded one song and I played my PRS Custom 22 into my Orange AD30HTC going through my Peavy 4x12. I played lead guitar on the track and I used the lead c...

Attenuator for My AD30HTC
So I am looking into buying an attenuator for my Orange AD30HTC. Of course, my neighbors get all pissed when I dime it. How well do these work for recording? From what I've read, everyone says get an attenuator that is double the wattage of one's amp. Then, I would get a 60w one? I've also read that...

Re: Review: Orange AD30HTC
Well, there you go - it suits your personal preferences for not needing lots of gain and not needing lots of bass. However, a lot of people who play heavy music do quite specifically want those things! I think it's also not just about the amount of gain, but the type - the AD30's gain is very gritt...

Re: Review: Orange AD30HTC
These are clips to show the difference in styles that I play at the moment. This is mostly for people who are looking into buying the AD30htc. So for all of these, I miced up the cab with a condenser mic (the AKG Perception 220). The amp was cranked to 10 on Master and Gain on the Some Girls covers....

Re: Review: Orange AD30HTC
I will agree that if you want super high gain, this will not suite your needs. Personally, I don't find super high gain to be necessary even in the heaviest of music, that's just my opinion. I still listen to music with super high gain and think it's great. However, when I play music, I don't find i...

AD30HTC knobs falling off
Ummm, so after taking my amp to a tech, some of the knobs are loose and falling off. Any tips on getting them on nice and tight again?

The Fall of Troy, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Saves the Day, The Mars Volta, Minus the Bear, etc... The Fall of Troy was good up to their last record. Dillinger stopped being good at Irony is a Dead Scene. Saves the Day at Through Being Cool. The Mars Volta was good until Octahedron, Minus the Bear u...

Review: Orange AD30HTC
When I first came onto this board. I asked if this amp would fit my needs. From psychedelic rock to mathcore. I had so many people say that this amp is "only good for 60's-70's rock". When I tried it and cranked up the gain, it didn't sound "fizzy" like some were saying. I was most definitely able t...

Some of the Knobs on my Orange Jiggle.
A few of the knobs on my Orange are loose and jiggle. They weren't like this before I took it to a technician. I guess my best bet is to take them off and try to put them back on or something. Any suggestions as to how I might get them back so they are solid again.
