Re: Which is the loudest?
Yeah, it really just "depends" I've heard 120 and 100 watt amps from the 1970s that will take your head off and are louder than any 100 watt amp made today without a doubt. I've also heard older Fender (and other) amps that were 40 or 60 watts that were just as loud as about any 100+ watt amp I've h...

Re: Orange Rv 100 Distortion question
I run my Rockerverb 100 similar to the one in that pic above - Mids on 6, Treble actually backed off a bit to around 5, and Bass on 10. I have my gain about 8 and my volume usually around 8. I use JJ E34Ls and 12AX7s in my 2007 MK 1. I have Demeter trannies and choke in mine. I use mainly Gibson gui...

Re: If you could bring a dead rock star back to life
I think the best way to answer this would be to consider which one died before their creative peak. I mean Zappa, Lennon, Moon, were all past their creative peaks and don't say Lennon's Double Fantasy was an example of great creative work, it was good but not great. Zappa hadn't done anything great ...

Re: 1973 OR120 picking up Mexican radio stations...
We were just having this conversation at the recording studio over the weekend - how when we were kids in the 70s/80s and just starting out we used pick up radio stations that always seemed to be Mexican (we are in Texas), police & fire radios, and other CB radios. From what I understand the emergen...

Re: G12T75 speakers, do they really suck that bad?
We did a few shows with Kill Devil Hill in Oct. and used their backline of Marshall 1960A cabs (they had two top cabs run side by side). I'd never run my Orange head through them before and its sounded glorious.

Bitch and moan all you want - there just isn't the demand to make all the models left handed at a cost effective price. You would like one of those OWS people who want everything for you for free but don't understand real economics and supply and demand. 10% of the population is left handed. By the ...

Re: Why do you listen to the music you listen to?
Honestly, some pretty poor choices in the poll, but its for fun so its all good. I don't think it can be described in those ways, maybe for some people. When a band hits a groove and its rocking, it just touches ones soul in a way I can't describe. I listen to a lot of stuff, mainly heavy, dark musi...

Re: AC/DC + Orange
The tone is considerably darker than they usually get. Gotta love the cymbal with the huge chunk out of it - looks like the rest of us poor hacks out there lol
Even darker, they still sound like AC/DC and Bon is still the man.

Re: Orthodox Fuzz, direct support for Kill Devil Hill's tx dates
no austin. fail. I know, we would have loved to come to Austin. I think were going to try and get down there at the first part of next year after we get our CD done. Looks like we won't be doing the San Antonio show, logistics are proving to be kind of a bitch. The Fort Worth show was horrible for ...

Re: OT: We already heard ages. Let's hear careers
Well, I had a major change about a year and half ago based on the sorry state of the economy. I spent 15 years working in digital marketing/enterprise Web development - ran part of the Global Business e-Commerce team for Sprint for 6 years then moved over to the digital agency world and worked on ac...

Crowbar the other night, that is Saint Vitus on stage but Kirk Windstein's (Crowbar/Down) rig behind Dave Chandler. Crowbar played after Saint Vitus. He had a Dime head (it was the Ride for Dime show after all) and 2 Orange cabs. Down plays here at the same venue Labor Day weekend. I will be there! ...

Re: Fixing up my SG
or bust is right -- you may be the only person in history of SGs that prefers that full monstrosity of a pickguard. The 61 style smaller guard looks much better. I've owned both, hate the big one, my 60s Tribute has the smaller one, much nicer. Shows more of the wood. The tuners on the G-400 are fin...
