I tried a friends AD30 once and really liked it, I remember it seemed to be packing more in the bottom end.

It's more trouser flap, punch, chest thump and floor rumble i'm after.

More of a power/clarity thing than tone. I love its tone.

I get where your coming from with regards to looking like ENGL now you mention it. My inspiration was the roundness of the Orange logo which led me to making everything based around circles.

I've heard great results with the Danelrctro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive, but had the chance to try it myself yet. I'm using a Wheehbo Effekte JCM drive with my DT and it works great. Do they both take pedals well?

I'd imagine I'd set the AD30 to mild overdrive and use a Fuzz and something like the ZW44 to push into heavier tones. On the R30 I'd use the Natural channel.
