Re: In Defense of Epiphone
I'm a big fan of Epiphones. I've had a Les Paul Standard and a 335 dot. Both weren't without fault when it came to finish, but tone and playability were excellent. They felt just as good as my Gibson SG Special or Melody Maker I once had. I actually preferred my Epi 335 to my Gibson 335. I've recent...

Re: I love my Dual Terror bit...
@msmith4432 have you found an overdrive pedal that works well with your OR50 to push it to that next level of drive?

Re: I love my Dual Terror bit...
Maybe trouser flap is the wrong word and it's girth I'm after. You want more trouser flapping girth? Are we still on an amp forum  I know, it's hard not to feel like a knob when trying to describe tone. I was cringing as I typed. Maybe the OR50 is the amp I should check out. Is there any diffe...

Re: I love my Dual Terror bit...
I tried a friends AD30 once and really liked it, I remember it seemed to be packing more in the bottom end.

Re: I love my Dual Terror bit...
It's more trouser flap, punch, chest thump and floor rumble i'm after.
More of a power/clarity thing than tone. I love its tone.

I love my Dual Terror bit...
...I could do with just a little more grunt, oomph and snarl. Things I love about the DT: 1. The tone, tone, tone, voicing and tone. 2. It's 30 watts (wouldn't see any need to go beyond 50) 3. I can go from from a light overdrive to full on roar at the flick of a footswitch So which of it's big brot...

Re: Orange Logo Competition... my designs
To be honest I thought it was a lose/lose situation from the start. The Orange brand is so strong and people really love it. It's almost and act of blasphemy to try and change it in any way. How could you possibly make it better? (Hence the shortlist of final designs). Still I thought it was fun to ...

Re: Orange Logo Competition... my designs
I get where your coming from with regards to looking like ENGL now you mention it. My inspiration was the roundness of the Orange logo which led me to making everything based around circles.Jondog wrote:I like the last one the best. It speaks Orange to me. No offense, but the others say ENGL to me.

Orange Logo Competition... my designs
I know the entry deadline is long gone and that my designs didn't make the cut (I think I miss interpreted the task) but I mentioned in a earlier post that i'd upload my designs. So here they are, for no particular reason. Has the winner been announced yet? http://www.willworkforfood.co.uk/OrangeLog...

Re: Thunderverb 50 vs Rocker 30?
I went into a store to try an R30, which I thought sounded great. Right next to it was a TV50, the amp that first got me to Orange, so I plugged into that straight after trying the R30. My thoughts were that the TV50 could do everything the rocker could do and more. So much versatitlity, I too like ...

Re: Light OD or treble boost for Dual Terror?
I've heard great results with the Danelrctro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive, but had the chance to try it myself yet. I'm using a Wheehbo Effekte JCM drive with my DT and it works great. Plus you get too levels of gain. I'd definitely recommend trying one out if you can. http://www.guitarworld.com/o...

Re: Orange art contest
Congratulations on becoming a finalist. I entered too but didn't make the cut. I might post mine on here tomorrow if I get chance, just for the fun of it. I think your piece is stunning, not only does it look great but it's really clever too. Good luck and I hope you win, you certainly deserve it! I...

Re: AD30 (single channel) vs Rocker 30
Do they both take pedals well?
I'd imagine I'd set the AD30 to mild overdrive and use a Fuzz and something like the ZW44 to push into heavier tones. On the R30 I'd use the Natural channel.
