Having by accident tried the fantastic Cornford Mk50 at the weekend, I desperately want one but would need to part out my RV50C to fund it or risk divorce :D Haven't seen any come up for sale used in the UK for ages but would £850 be a realistic private sale valuation? It's less then 6 months old...

Welcome to the board. After going through so many Marshalls, Mesas, H&K, Fender etc, I also finally found my sound this year with the Rockerverb 50 combo. It's a fantastic amp. Nothing touches the clean channel (not even any of the Fenders I have owned)and the distortion channel sounds HUGE! Unfortu...

Interesting thread. I have some Celestion Heritage speakers in an old dead Marshall JTM combo which sounded fantastic. I am thinking of testing them in my PPC212 OB and therefore running Vintage 30's in my Rockerverb combo and Heritages in the extenstion cab. On the Greenback front, I never personal...

I've got the following Orange bits: RV50 combo PPC212 OB TT Head I actually really like the TT. I bought it as my backup / home amp but have recently played it quite a lot at rehearsal as it's a lot easier then lugging 43kgs of Rockerverb around. I wouldn't even say it's a one trick pony as just usi...

I've been toying with a similar idea for a while. I have a Marshall JTM60 combo that died some while ago that has 2 x 12 Celestion heritage speakers in it which sound amazing. I have a Rockerverb combo and run a PPC212 OB as an extension cab so I was thinking about chucking the heritage speakers int...

Had my Rockerverb for about 6 months now and probably done about 10 gigs with it and umpteen rehearsals at gig volumes. Had a gig the other night and basically, the amp sounded very shrill after a while and very fizzy. At one point, I got lots of feedback until I engaged my noise gate set to full. I...

I currently have a Rockerverb 50 combo and was curious to check, does anyone run their Rockerverb with Celestion Heritage speakers? If so, how do they compare to the Vintage 30's? Just curious as I have an old dead Marshall JTM 60 combo with Celestion Heritages in which always sounded amazing and I'...

I've got a Rockerverb combo and a TT and have always preferred the sound of open back personally. Whilst I've had plenty of closed backs in the past, to me, the open backs always sound a bit woodier, organic and warmer then closed backs. Even with an open back, the Rockerverb is a very dark sounding...

Topic: how do you make RV50's cut through?

For me, I use an RV50c plus an additional PPC212OB cab running a 1958 VOS Les Paul and various pedals. The clean channel cuts through superbly, however, due to the compression on the OD channel, I find that you need to run the volume higher on channel 2. On the settings side, I've found a really goo...

Blackcloud: In relation to your issues with volume boosts on the Rockerverb, forget trying to run a drive pedal in front of the amp as all you are doing is saturating the preamp tubes with more gain. What you need is a clean boost pedal and it needs to be run in the FX loop not in front of the amp s...

Ignore me. Just realised I knocked the fuse loose - All 4 6V6's working correctly

On the positive side, the JJ's 12ax7's sound great in the Rockerverb - really smoothes out any fiziness in the OD channel.

As for the stock valves, not even branded for an £1100 amp !!!!!

Was changing the preamp valves valves in my Rockerverb combo tonight and when putting it all back together, I noticed the valve failure light was on for power valves 2 & 4 (caused I suspect by 2 suspect JAN philips 12AT7's which killed all the volume in the amp - as soon as I put the original 12AT7'...

I've just ordered up some JJ 12ax7's for v1 - V4 in my Rockerverb and some NOS JAN Philips 12AT7's for the reverb and PI stages. Got them on Ebay UK from the same guy I always buy my tubes from. He's selling the JAN Philips for £4.99 each :| as he's got a big batch of them!!!! Thought Christmas h...
