model code on reverb tank - rv50?

Hey guys, I got a question today asking what the model code is on my reverb tank. Problem being that my reverb tank got removed by my guitar tech due to it being broken. Is this code a generic parts number, or do I have a specific one? If it's generic, would anyone be able to tell me what it is? Tha...

Re: 2009 amp of the year... Orange...

hm i'm kind of surprised at their guitar of the year. I have the 72 deluxe version. all in all its decent but the reissue WRHB pickups are not exactly outstanding (function following form). dropping them way down and adjusting the poles + 500k/1M pots helps a lot tho. as they come, quite mushy/mudd...

Re: Looking to sell my RV50

Thanks for all the help guys, I think I've also been looking around because my band style has slowly been changing.. The reason I purchased the Orange in the first place is because I used to play heavier rhythm parts (drop c), but am now finding myself playing in standard again with a bit of OD on t...

Looking to sell my RV50

Sadly after 2 weeks in the studio I'm looking to sell my RV50H for something else.. I really love how it sounds live, but when I recorded with my band, I ended up using a bogner Alchemist because the Orange sounded too dark for my taste, and for some reason the RV50 sounded pretty bad with OD pedals...

Re: PEDALS.

Depends on the brand/type of those pedals..

I don't use the effects loop on my RV50 and I run guitar > korg pitchblack > vox wah > boss dd-20 > boss OD-3 > fuzz factory > amp.

I admit, the wah sucks some tone, but thats about it.. I barely use the wah though so it doesn't concern me.

I'm just going by what the amp repairer said.

He told me I had to wait another 2 weeks because has to order a correct reverb tank as mine is gone. I have no clue when it comes to fixing amps, so I'm just going by what he says.

Oh thats not as bad as I thought it would be..

I was expecting hundreds.. It has already been with a tech for 2 weeks and he has determined that its the reverb tank, so he had to order parts and apparently thats going to take a while.. So hopefully he's right about the tank.

Reverb Tank

So my reverb wasn't working and now my amp is away for 4 weeks on repairs because it needs a new reverb tank.. I have an RV50 head. How much am I looking at for this replacement? I also got him to retube/rebias the amp because I have lots of shows coming up and I don't want to be messing around later.

You will lose some tension in the neck, but its not bad for it.

You have to take off all the strings when doing things with the electronics, you shouldn't be worried about it. If it plays differently, you may need to readjust the neck a little.

I changed the pots in my 72 deluxe tele to 500k. I'm getting so much hum/buzz.. Taking it to a guitar tech to see if I screwed up.

They sound good. Quiet? No - you're taking a normal single coil pickup and adding more winds to it - i.e., more noise producing factors. Now - they're not bad if you're using them for bluesy type OD, but you ARE going to get more noise the more gain/distortion you hit them with. There are plenty of...

Texas Special pups

For tele..

How do these sound? More importantly to me, are they somewhat quiet for single coil pups?

I'm looking for something that can be punchy on a bit of gain on it.
