...at my local shop. They stock the full line of Orange heads, combos and cabs. The OR50 is a new arrival and I was anxious to crank it up. I am an Orange amp fan and have owned an R30 and currently use an RV50 as one of my main amps. The OR50 has the old-school Orange brattiness in spades. I played...

"Mesa" and "microphonic" go together like bread and butter! I have a Mesa head that howls at the moon when cranked if I put the wrong tubes in it. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that's what your problem is. I had to go through several tubes to find a set that would behave at high gain and volume setti...

Wow, that's a great score. Congrats. I'll share a similar story: I had a friend who called me a couple of years ago. He was emptying a house after a tenant left and he said there was a "little white box that says Fender on it." Knowing I was a musician, he had called to ask if I wanted it. I was exc...

Can you say more?;)

Like, have you played an OD9 before the mods? If so, what difference do you hear afterward? Maybe you can give us a review after you heat it up for awhile.

Anyway, great score!

I have a stock OD9 and I really like it.

I have had great experiences with placing a boost in the fx loop of Marshall JMP, Orange RV50 and a couple of Mesa amps. They sound bigger and cleaner there than in front. Much bigger, and not necessarily clean. In other words, exponentially less additional distortion when used in the loop. Y...

Blistic, Having owned several Mesas and Oranges I can certainly understand where you're coming from. I have rarely fallen in love with an amp's voice the way I have with my RV50. There are a few Mesas which will do the smooth liquidy lead thing very nicely too(I have one of them). Funny you mentione...

So....where on earth ARE they? I cannot find a store anywhere that has any in stock. Matter of fact, no one ever seems to have any. Get busy, Orange. I owned a Rocker 30 for a few weeks, then an RV50 head arrived at my local store, and I brought it home to try out. I took the Rocker 30 back the next morning, paid the difference and have not looked back. I loved the R30, but my God I can't imagine how I've gone all these years without an RV50.
