Topic: Carvin Guitars anyone??

I did some work on a Carvin a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn't great to be honest. It was about 4 years old, had loads of loose frets, issues with the way the Sperzel locking tuners had been installed, and the pickups weren't great (had a Fishman so onboard preamp that worked on pickups too). Hope...

I polished off the VOS crap on my R7, but thats a different deal as it's some kind of coating they put on the hardware. I'd probably make sure the screws aren't seized and the heads pretty clean, then use a dry soft cloth on the rest, no polish or anything. Just my opinion of course.

Ouch, sorry to hear that - I would be pissed at having to stump up for the return shipping, how is it your fault they sent you a duff guitar?

I heard playing guitar is one of the best exercises for hand and arm injuries as it uses all the muscles and tendons. It'll take some time for the wound to heal enough to move it though. I wouldn't worry too much about the loss of feeling at this stage, it's probably down to the tight dressing and l...

Hmm, good question... I see shapes and textures in music, but not specific notes.

I was messing about with my Matamp 1224 today with a P90 equipped guitar, set to one KT77 in class A with the master dimed. If there's a better clean/breakup amp out there, I've not heard it. I've heard quite a few too...

Scratch that, just done a little research and apparently the Sunn only has 4 or 8 ohm speaker outs. Given that choice, I'd go with 8ohm. Looks like a killer amp by the way, I've seen 200s but I'd not come across 2000s before - how does it sound? Is he using it for bass or guitar?

I would try and stick with 16 ohm then, so you can hook more cabs up together and shake walls.
