I played for about 3 hours before the issue started happening. Would the speakers have made the sound earlier on? I am going to mess around with it tonight and see if i can replicate the issue.Jondog wrote:I'd return it myself. Sounds like a power supply issue. That is if it's not the speakers.

CR120H hot and farting making weird noises
I have a brand new Orange CR120h head with a brand new Avatar 2x12 head. I was running though a OD pedal, tuner, and noise gate pedal. I am running at 16ohms. Yesterday was the second time i have ever played with a drummer with this amp. So i had it turn up about on 3 or 4, sounded good but after a ...

Building cab for CR120H have questions
Any advice? I am going to pick up a Seismic 2x12 cab and put two Veteran 30s in there. ( these are their version of the Vintage 30s but smoother upper mids). So with that being said i thought i read something somewhere about the CR120h liking an 8ohm cab more so than a 16ohm. Can anyone speak to thi...

Re: Smallest best cab for CR120h
You could try with one cab, and see if it's enough. I did with my TH30 and when I got tired of having to reach down to the controls I just bought another one. Problem with having it on the floor was that not all the frequencies made it up to my ears, with two of them stacked the problem was solved....

Re: CR120H input overload
Is it normal to get a bit of overload on these with a hard strum? I know the clean channel is supposed to get dirty, but a hard strum on a les paul with paf styled pickups seems to add grit that is different from the tone of the clean being over driven. I only notice it on the clean channel. Thanks...

Smallest best cab for CR120h
Am i limited to a 2x12 cab or can i get away with a 1 speaker V30 cab? If i can, would it be worth it, loud enough, sound good etc. ? I have read that 8ohms is the best matched with the CR120H. Any input.

Re: What OD pedal for my CR120H
I do exactly what you are trying to do. Maxon 808 and with the amp at Slightly scooped mids and greater hi settings than you might be comfortable with. The amp stays thick through most settings especially at loud volumes and the his give it the bitey edge. Maxon is real transparent and versatile. R...

Re: What OD pedal for my CR120H
I am planning to boost the gain on the overdrive channel. I like the distortion that the amp itself has, i just want to push it more for parts that require the extra umph. I was thinking a tubescreamer or something might do it. I tried Joyo JF-02 Ultimate Overdrive Pedal but i am just not getting t...

Re: What OD pedal for my CR120H
Whats up Darkstar! The Protone Dead Horse Overdrive Pedal sounds awesome with the CR120. Philip Theobald's uses this setup in all of his metal covers on youtube, and Ryan "Fluff" Bruce's uses it in his review of the CR120 on Youtube as well. Re: What OD pedal for my CR120H
Are you planning to use an overdrive to boost the gain on the CR dirty channel? Or do you plan to use a standalone distortion through the clean channel? Most CR users find the dirty channel to be quite nice, so maybe you can just use a Tubescreamer or SD1 style pedal to boost and tighten the sound....

What OD pedal for my CR120H
I am looking for something that i can click on and get a much more brutal, thicker guitar tone. This would probably be used mostly when i am playing metal and want something really thick for chuggy parts. Suggestions on pedals and settings for my head?

Re: First time orange buy, need advice on what head
Thanks for the input guys. I think for the money it seems like the CR120H is a no brainer. I don't have to have tubes, i just want the tones and of course the PPC212 seems like a must. Might as well go ahead and get a cab that is going to last me for a long long time with the speakers that kick butt...
