NAD: Micro Dark!

http://i.imgur.com/USw6rIi.jpg Here's an unreasonably long demo. Flick through it to hear different settings. It starts off with cleans on a Tele and makes it's way up to higher gain, then about 20 mins in I switch out for an Epiphone Dot, then towards the end I plug the headphone jack into some sp...

Re: Overdrive for TH30 clean channel?

Visual sound Jekyll 'n' Hyde. I have the Son of Hyde pedal and even that has really nice OD/breakup tones. There's a treble boost which will help brighten things up. Really chunky low end. Will give you a different texture of high gain tone, less fuzzy but can get pretty doomy on some settings with ...

Re: Micro Dark into TH30c

Isn't the Micro Dark essentially a tiny TH30? Seems like kind of a wasted effort. I imagine the Microdark probably sounds better at low volumes as it's designed to sound saturated without power amp gain. You'd nearly be better plugging the speaker emulated out into a pair of decent monitors if you w...

Re: Finally getting my first Orange for Christmas...

Cool. I haven't tried the Micro Dark, but I will soon. The regular Micro Terror gets really good cleans if you back down the gain, and it's pretty loud. Yeah I just preferred the cleans/low gain with the Micro Dark. It was harder to hit a sweet spot between the tone and gain knobs on the Micro Terr...

Finally getting my first Orange for Christmas...

I've been meaning to pick up a Micro Terror for ages but could never quite justify it. I live in an apartment and mostly use modelling(I owned a Pod HD but now own a Zoom G3, and a Vox modeler), I really like the control and ease it gives me for recording. But it's also limited in terms of not reall...

Re: micro terror and ppc108 is here!

I have the PPC108, just waiting for the MT from a friend. I have a spare ZT Lunchbox cab lying around. I tried it with a Little Smasher head. I found that using the Lunchbox cab in conjunction really helped make the sound fuller. Even though it's only a 6.5" speaker it's just enough to drive it well...

Re: so honeymoon over with micro terror

If you're used to the cube that's probably the problem. The cube probably has an internal noise gate as most modelling amps do. P90s are notoriously noisy. Try getting some kind of cheap noise gate pedal, like an ARTEC one.

Re: Mini NAD!

Of course it does, they are great little amps. Surprising amount of low end for a tiny box. Shame the metal setting sucks so much. You can't get much gain out of it aside from that setting, need to use pedals.

Re: Zoom G3 - pleasantly surprised!

The G3 is an amazing unit. Some of the amp sims are a bit flat compared to my Pod HD, but some are really neat. Love the Fender Twin, Vibroverb, Diezel, Orange MKII.

Re: Question about Micro Terror power supply

Well yeah. It goes into a DI Box generally so it'll be fine. May even run it through a Reverb or FX pedal. I plan on using a Zoom G3 for live gigs, but the 3 effects slots only is really annoying. While the Orange model on it's one of the better ones, it might be best to use it for pure FX and free ...

I've seen pictures of Oranges like that. It's probably just the lighting.

I've also heared that it comes with a free pre-amp as well!
Yeah, but I can't take out a tiny part of it and bring it to gigs to use as a Preamp direct to the desk :P

Re: Question about Micro Terror power supply

Actually sitting this on top of a proper tube poweramp could be really amazing.

Does anybody know a cheap EL84 poweramp? There's probably no way to disable the speakers im in line out though, so urgh. Maybe mod for an effects loop?
